The Talent Partner supports managers and team members with employee relations, disciplinary actions, and career development. A Partner also serves as a subject matter expert in BBVA Talent and Culture policies and practices, and federal and state employment regulations. This position is located within Talent and Culture Solutions, a centralized HR management function based in Birmingham, Alabama, supporting approximately 10,000 team members in the seven state BBVA Compass footprint.
Interpret and administer BBVA Compass policies, programs and procedures; ensuring consistent application across the BBVA Compass footprint and compliance with all federal and state regulations and employment laws.
Provide consultation and instruction to managers in administering progressive discipline (coaching and Performance Improvement Programs, documented warnings through termination, etc.) for performance and/or absence management, employee relations issues, etc.
Provide consultation and support to team members with professional and personal problems affecting their employment; investigating and resolving team member complaints.
Ensure that all team member contact is recorded in the appropriate applications, and that strict confidentiality is maintained.
Successful candidate must possess strong moral ethics and be able to maintain confidentiality; exhibit the ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing; possess strong analytical skills and sound judgment; able to maintain composure under pressure and multi-task with confidence and comfort.
