    What will you be doing?

    As part of building out the Open Platform product suite, client portfolio and general processes, understanding the risks in each category is critical.

    The role of Risk Officer I will be to support risk management activities including: coordination of client due diligence activities and documentation maintenance, drive client monitoring requests and timelines, control execution related to client’s customer facing marketing materials monitoring, partnership with other Risk & Internal Control team members for risk assessment and control framework build out of products & processes, liaison with other BBVA Compass credit risk partners for clients that utilize ACH products and partnership with Open Platform teams to prepare for BASPAC and other approvals.

    Additionally, the role of Risk Officer I will be to ensure appropriate oversight and governance routines are conducted in accordance with BBVA US methodologies and requirements. This role would also be on point to coordinate internal & external exam requests for Open Platform, facilitate preparation and execution of quarterly risk committees for Open Platform and liaison with other oversight/escalation channels to ensure Open Platform activities are being accurately reflected.

    Specific Duties

    • Support in the risk identification and control development across Open Platform processes and products
    • Coordinate with product owners on development of business requirements - specifically control and reporting requirements
    • Work directly with Open Platform prospects and integration partners to coordinate due diligence requests, maintain the due diligence tracking tool and communicate with prospects on missing/follow up items related to due diligence
    • Partner with other control partners (such as Compliance & Legal) and work directly with clients to perform ongoing monitoring against contractual requirements and limits and other control standards
    • Document risks and controls in accordance with global & US standards and tools
    • Maintain procedures documents and manage updates/approvals of these documents
    • Coordinate and maintain the BASPAC approval pipeline for Open Platform specific approval requests
    • Serve as a point of contact during internal/external exams and coordinate materials requested by examiners or other reviewers
    • Assemble all required documentation and prepare quarterly risk committee packages for Open Platform risk committees being established later in 2017
