Function:  Provides system support in a computer platform environment for BBVA Compass Bank’s servers and associated networks.  Plans and coordinates the maintenance of system and vendor software packages, including operating system software. Troubleshoots and resolves technical problems as well as keeps and updates documentation of existing infrastructure.

 

Education and Training:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.  Certifications in Solaris or Red Hat Enterprise Linux are useful but not required.

Required Qualifications:

•         3-4 years of UNIX systems installation, configuration, troubleshooting and administration experience.
•         Excellent troubleshooting skills with strong organization, documentation and verbal/written communication skills.
•         UNIX shell scripting
•         Ability to create virtual environments in Vmware, Oracle VM (LDOMs and Zones)
•         Must have working knowledge of Solaris versions 9/10/11, RHEL versions 6-7
•         Understanding of networking configurations
•         Strong organization and prioritization skills
•         Must have strong analytical, research, and problem solving skills.
•         Must have excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
•         Must be able to multitask and coordinate several projects simultaneously.
•         Must work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.
•         Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

•         Experience working in large enterprise environment
•         Experience working with Amazon Web Services, VMWare, and Oracle Engineered Systems
