    Responsible for mortgage loan volume within the assigned market.  Acts as an advisor to potential and existing mortgage customers.  Establishes relationships with local and state government agencies as well as organizations that focus on low to moderate income borrowers.  Maximizes production with referrals from Realtors, contractors, internal and external referral sources, and branch network. Ensure an exceptional customer experience is maintained with all potential and existing customers.  Cross-selling other bank products is key to maximizing production.  Ensures compliance with all applicable state and Federal laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Increase mortgage loan volume, primarily focusing on CRA, low-to-moderate, and minority customers, through effective selling.
    • Actively promote the Bank’s CRA, low-to-moderate, and minority lending efforts and generate residential mortgages in targeted areas.
    • Establishes relationships with nonprofit housing groups, state and local housing offices, and community based affordable housing organizations to generate and increase CRA mortgage opportunities within targeted areas.
    • Actively work with state, local and county down payment assistance programs.
    • Represent the bank at educational seminars, workshops, and housing programs with state and local, and non-profit housing organizations.  
    • Advise customer on the mortgage loan that is appropriate for their individual financial circumstances.
    • Become a leader in the community when it comes to mortgages and mortgage knowledge.
    • Build and deepen relationships with industry-specific center of influences like real estate agents and contractors.  
    • Maximize the bank’s resources to assist in selling and establishing relationships.
    • Cross-sell bank products at each mortgage closing.
    • Comply with all appropriate bank policies and regulatory guidelines.
    • Always deliver an exceptional customer experience.


    Must meet credit history and criminal background requirements associated with Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry registration process, to include FBI fingerprint criminal history and review of credit report.


    • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field and/or equivalent professional experience, preferred, but not required.
    • Proven track record of successful mortgage origination, primarily in CRA, low-to-moderate, and minority lending.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage compliance and regulations with primary focus on CRA and Fair Lending guidelines.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of local, county, and state down payment assistance programs.
    • Must exhibit a friendly and helpful attitude along with the ability to interact positively with employees at all levels of the organization, including peers, direct reports and senior management.
    • Ability to solve complex issues.
    • Ability to utilize a personal computer and Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.



    Community Development MBO I (Grade 14)     Minimum three years experience preferred, but not required.

    Community Development MBO II (Grade 16)    Minimum five years experience preferred, but not required.

    Community Development MBO III (Grade 18)   Minimum seven years experience preferred, but not required
